Ekholm and Dickinson practise as Oilers await medical call for Flames game
Edmonton’s medical staff will decide whether the two injured players can return Wednesday after both practised Tuesday.
Mattias Ekholm and Jason Dickinson participated in the Edmonton Oilers’ practice Tuesday as they worked towards returning against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The club said their availability would depend on its medical staff, with decisions expected Wednesday morning.
Ekholm said he had completed concussion protocols after leaving last week’s win over Carolina when his head struck the ice. He has one goal and two assists in 10 appearances this season.
Dickinson has played three games this season. An ankle injury delayed his start, and a groin problem during practice on Oct. 14 interrupted his return. On Tuesday, he practised between Mathieu Joseph and Isaac Howard.
The Oilers’ report identified their upcoming New York road trip as another opportunity for the pair to return if they are unable to play against Calgary.
