Tristan Jarry kept Calgary off the scoreboard with 24 saves on Wednesday, helping the Edmonton Oilers beat the Flames 4-0 at Rogers Place. The victory ended Edmonton’s two-game losing streak and Calgary’s run of four consecutive wins.

Mathieu Joseph, Mattias Ekholm, Kasperi Kapanen and Alex Formenton supplied the goals. Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each contributed two assists.

Joseph opened the scoring in the first period before Ekholm doubled the lead in the second. Edmonton then added two goals early in the third: Kapanen converted a McDavid pass on the power play, and Formenton scored 21 seconds later.

Calgary changed goaltenders after Devin Cooley suffered a lower-body injury in a first-period collision with Colton Dach. Cooley finished the period with eight saves on nine shots but did not return. Dustin Wolf played the remaining 40 minutes and stopped 20 of 23 shots.

McDavid also extended his season-opening assist streak to 13 games, an NHL record. The Oilers captain finished with two assists in the win.
