Connor Ingram retires from hockey at 29
The Saskatoon native announced the end of his career on Instagram, and his agent confirmed it Friday.

The 29-year-old goaltender announced his retirement in an Instagram post Friday night. "Don't be sad it's over, be happy it happened. Thanks hockey, I owe ya," he wrote. His agent, Blake Evans, confirmed the decision to NHL.com.
Ingram walks away after five NHL seasons and 134 regular season games with Edmonton, Nashville, the Arizona Coyotes and Utah, going 55-54-18 with a 3.01 goals-against average,.901 save percentage and nine shutouts. He was 2-6 with a 3.76 GAA in nine playoff appearances.
Last season, his only one with the Oilers, the Saskatoon native went 16-10-3 with a 2.60 GAA,.899 save percentage and two shutouts in 32 games, plus five playoff games in which he was 2-3 with a 3.86 GAA. He also spent time with Edmonton's AHL affiliate in Bakersfield after arriving from Utah in an October trade.
Ingram was a third-round pick, No. 88, by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2016 draft. He was coming off a three-year, $5.85 million contract and became an unrestricted free agent this summer. Edmonton did not re-sign him, instead signing Frederik Andersen to a one-year, $2.8 million deal on July 1. Andersen is expected to miss training camp with an injury, leaving Tristan Jarry and Devon Levi on the Oilers roster in goal.
Per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Ingram plans to go back to school to study psychology and use what he learns to help others.
