Trent Frederic will move onto the Edmonton Oilers’ second line for Thursday’s home game against the Utah Mammoth, the club announced in its projected lineup.

Frederic is expected to skate with Jason Dickinson and Kasperi Kapanen at Rogers Place on Oct. 15. Coach Mike Babcock wants Frederic to use his physical play on the forecheck and regain confidence after a difficult 2025-26 season.

Babcock’s instructions emphasised a direct game: forecheck, get to the net and defend.

The game begins at 9 p.m. ET and opens a home-and-away series between the clubs.
