The Edmonton Oilers host the Utah Mammoth at Rogers Place on Thursday, Oct. 15, to begin a home-and-away series. The NHL schedule lists a 7 p.m. MT start, with the return game in Salt Lake City on Saturday.

Edmonton enters at 5-0-1 after completing its three-game California trip with a 4-1 victory over Los Angeles on Tuesday. The Oilers have won five straight, while Utah is 5-2-0 after beating Toronto 5-4.

Connor McDavid has four goals and 13 assists through six games, according to Edmonton’s preview. He contributed a goal and three assists against the Kings, and Devon Levi made 39 saves.

The Oilers reported that Zach Hyman was close to returning from a lower-body injury before the Los Angeles game. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been skating as his recovery progresses; the club had not confirmed their availability for Thursday in its preview.

Utah has scored 10 power-play goals in its first seven games, Edmonton’s report notes. Nick Schmaltz has six goals and shares the Mammoth’s points lead with Mikhail Sergachev and Logan Cooley at nine apiece.
