Colten Ellis reached across his crease with his right pad to stop Michael Amadio early in Buffalo’s home game against Ottawa on Wednesday.

Amadio collected the puck in the Sabres’ zone and found Claude Giroux near the opposite side of the net. Giroux returned the pass, leaving Amadio a chance from close range, but Ellis stretched to keep the shot out. The play came just over a minute into the opening period at KeyBank Center, according to NHL.com.

Ellis is playing his second season with Buffalo. Wednesday marked his sixth start of the season.
