Willander scratched against Ducks with lower-body injury
Vancouver told reporters the defenceman was injured during Tuesday’s morning skate, Sportsnet reported.
The Vancouver Canucks were without Tom Willander for Tuesday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks after a lower-body injury during morning skate, Sportsnet reported, citing the club’s pregame update to reporters.
The scratch ended Willander’s run of appearances in each of Vancouver’s first 16 games. Sportsnet reported that he had three assists and was averaging 20:25 per game.
Earlier Tuesday, the Canucks’ official preview had highlighted Willander’s development in his second NHL season. The club said he led its players in five-on-five ice time through 16 games, following an offseason focused on conditioning.
