Cutter Gauthier scored three goals for the second game in a row as the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 at Rogers Arena on Tuesday. Anaheim held on after Jake DeBrusk scored twice in the third period.

The Ducks said Wednesday that the victory extended their run of games with at least five goals to five, a franchise first. They scored 27 times over that stretch, matching the club record.

Anaheim went 3-for-3 on the power play in Vancouver, bringing its total to 10 goals on 12 opportunities over three games. The club said that was the first three-game span in recorded NHL power-play history, tracked since 1977-78, with at least 10 goals and a conversion rate above 80 per cent. Gauthier became the first NHL player with multiple power-play goals in three consecutive games.

Granlund and Gauthier scored on first-period power plays, with Liam Ohgren replying for Vancouver. Carlsson extended the Ducks’ lead in the second, and Linus Karlsson brought the Canucks back within one before Gauthier scored on another power play.

Gauthier completed his hat trick at 4:11 of the third period to make it 5-2. DeBrusk answered at 5:30 and 9:34, but Vancouver could not find an equalizer.

Laurent Brossoit made 19 saves for Anaheim. Kevin Lankinen stopped 17 shots for Vancouver.
