Brady Tkachuk expects a nervous return to Ottawa on Wednesday, Oct. 21, when the Florida Panthers visit the Senators at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Speaking ahead of his first game back as a visiting player, Tkachuk said the occasion would feel more immediate once Florida arrived in the city and he saw former teammates, Sportsnet reported Monday. He described the prospect as unfamiliar but exciting.

Tkachuk said he wants to put the emotion to use on the ice. He recalled his eight seasons in Ottawa with affection and said the city had shaped him.

He captained the Senators for the last five of those seasons before the June 21 trade to Florida, according to NHL.com.
