Senators expect Jake Sanderson back Wednesday against Panthers

Ottawa Senators coach Travis Green expects Jake Sanderson to return against the Florida Panthers on Wednesday, Oct. 21, he told reporters Saturday.

Sanderson remains unavailable for Saturday’s game in Philadelphia, which will be his eighth consecutive absence, according to the NHL’s game preview.

The defenceman has been sidelined with a lower-body injury suffered in Ottawa’s season opener against Toronto. Sportsnet reported that he played 4:29 before leaving that game.

Green’s update puts a potential return on Ottawa’s calendar, but Sanderson has not yet returned to the lineup.
