Scripps Executive Points to Possible PWHL All-Star Game in Toronto

A Scripps Sports executive has offered the clearest public indication yet that the PWHL may stage its first standalone All-Star Game in Toronto.

After the PWHL and Scripps announced their U.S. television agreement on Sept. 9, The Hockey News reported that company president Brian Lawlor described the scope of the coverage in a BNN Bloomberg interview: Scripps would "start with opening night, go through their All-Star Game in Toronto, we'll carry semi-finals, and then the Walter Cup finals again."

Lawlor's remark appears to be the first reported indication of a Toronto site. The league has not announced an All-Star Game, a host venue or a date for 2026-27.

Lawlor also described roughly 25 weeks of coverage. Scripps' official announcement confirms a Saturday Game of the Week, two additional national games each week and postseason coverage, but it does not mention an All-Star Game.

The closest precedent came during NHL All-Star week in 2024, when PWHL players took part in a 3-on-3 showcase at Scotiabank Arena. PWHL players have also joined NHL team skills events.

For now, Toronto is an expectation voiced by the broadcaster, not a league-confirmed event.
