The Detroit Red Wings recalled forward Sheldon Dries from the Grand Rapids Griffins on Thursday under emergency conditions. Detroit also sent goaltender Michal Postava back to its AHL affiliate, the clubs announced.

Dries has five goals and three assists in four games for Grand Rapids this season. He also appeared in six games for Detroit before this recall.

Daniil Tarasov is due back after missing three games with an undisclosed injury and will back up John Gibson against Chicago, according to the NHL’s projected lineup. Postava had joined Detroit on an emergency recall on Oct. 22.
