PWHL Summer Camp Expands to Traverse City in August

The PWHL is bringing a summer hockey camp to Traverse City, Michigan, as part of an expansion that now includes more than 30 events across 16 cities in the United States and Canada. The Traverse City camp is among several new locations added to the program this summer, according to thepwhl.com.

The camps run throughout July and August and welcome players from U6 through U18 and older, covering skill levels from recreational to competitive. Each camp is led by PWHL team staff and coaches and features involvement from league players. UPS is the title sponsor of the Canadian camps, while U.S. locations including Traverse City operate under the PWHL Summer Camps banner.

The league saw a 500% increase in demand for hockey programming during the 2025-26 season, prompting the second-year expansion of the camp initiative. Other U.S. camp sites this summer include Seattle, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Duluth, Hermantown, St. Paul, Superior, Rochester, West Orange, and Boston. Canadian camps are taking place in Vancouver, Kingston, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax.

The PWHL also announced a partnership with the Women of Colour Hockey Collective and e.l.f. Beauty to support two programs aimed at increasing participation among girls of color. A free three-day camp took place July 10 through 12 at Ford Performance Centre in Etobicoke, Ontario, led by PWHL players Sophie Jaques, Mikyla Grant-Mentis, and Jade Iginla. The PWHL and e.l.f. Grant Program will provide financial assistance and mentorship to 50 girls of color each year, including opportunities to attend games in every PWHL market.
