Bryan Rust will be reevaluated in six weeks after suffering a lower-body injury, Pittsburgh Penguins coach Dan Muse said Thursday, Oct. 22. The team placed the winger on injured reserve the same day.

Rust left Monday's 5-4 loss to the Utah Mammoth during the second period. He had two assists in that game and has five points, including three goals, through seven appearances this season. He missed the first three games with an upper-body injury.

Pittsburgh tried a different first-line combination at Thursday's morning skate, with Tommy Novak on the left, Sidney Crosby at centre and Rickard Rakell on the right. Muse said the combinations remained options rather than a confirmed lineup for the game against Florida.
