Erik Karlsson leads the Pittsburgh Penguins in scoring as they begin a three-game homestand against the Florida Panthers on Thursday, Oct. 22. The defenceman has a goal and 10 assists for 11 points, according to the Penguins' game preview.

Five of Karlsson's points have come on the power play, putting him in a tie for the NHL lead among defencemen entering Thursday's game. The Penguins say he is the only defenceman currently leading his club in total points.

Pittsburgh has earned four wins and two overtime or shootout losses in its past six meetings with Florida. Thursday's game at PPG Paints Arena also begins a stretch in which five of the Penguins' next six games are at home.

The Penguins' Monday game in Utah brought first points with the club for Andrei Kuzmenko and Spencer Stastney. Both assisted on Egor Chinakhov's third-period goal. Thursday's broadcast is on SportsNet Pittsburgh, with radio coverage on 105.9 The X.
