Moore earns praise after returning from Blackhawks healthy scratch
Jeff Blashill and Patrick Kane welcomed the forward’s response in Tuesday’s win over Los Angeles.
Oliver Moore responded to a game out of Chicago’s lineup by helping a new line with Frank Nazar and Patrick Kane find its rhythm in Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
Coach Jeff Blashill said Moore had been playing well before he was scratched against Florida on Sunday. The decision was intended to reinforce the need to avoid mistakes that hurt the team, rather than punish a prolonged run of poor performances, according to the Associated Press report carried by Sportsnet.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Moore had reviewed a risky pass from Friday’s game against Montreal as part of the lesson. Moore said he wanted to make better decisions while trusting his skating and instincts.
Moore returned alongside Nazar and Kane and was on the ice for Wyatt Kaiser’s decisive third-period goal. Kane praised his performance and potential after the game. Blashill also highlighted Moore’s willingness to accept feedback and move on from mistakes.
