Maple Leafs turn to Bobrovsky for Tuesday’s game against Mammoth
Jim Hiller named Sergei Bobrovsky the starter as Toronto returns home to face Utah.
Toronto will give Sergei Bobrovsky the start against the Utah Mammoth on Tuesday, coach Jim Hiller told reporters Monday, according to Sportsnet. The Maple Leafs return home for a 7 p.m. ET game.
Bobrovsky enters the matchup with a 3-5-2 record, a 3.29 goals-against average and an .885 save percentage. Sportsnet reported that he allowed five goals in his previous appearance against Seattle.
Hiller praised the preparation Bobrovsky puts into each game. Anthony Stolarz started Saturday’s 4-2 victory over Vancouver.
Stolarz has a 2.66 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage over six starts this season, according to Sportsnet. Despite those results, Hiller is returning to Bobrovsky for the Utah matchup.
