Jets choose Top Gun, Canadiens honour brewing roots at Heritage Classic
Winnipeg wore bomber jackets and aviator sunglasses, while Montreal arrived in coveralls and hard hats for Sunday’s outdoor game.
The Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens took different approaches to their themed arrivals at Princess Auto Stadium before Sunday’s Heritage Classic. Winnipeg chose a Top Gun look, while Montreal dressed as brewery workers.
The Jets wore bomber jackets, aviator sunglasses, white T-shirts and jeans. Their jackets carried pilot wings and nameplates as well as Jets and Heritage Classic logos, NHL.com reported.
Montreal’s players paired coveralls with hard hats in a tribute to the Molson family and team president Geoff Molson. The word “Heritage” appeared in script on the backs of their coveralls, according to NHL.com.
Both entrances continued the tradition of coordinated outfits at NHL outdoor games. The Jets and Canadiens are scheduled to play at 7 p.m. ET.
