The Iowa Wild signed six players to AHL contracts for the 2026-27 season, general manager Matt Hendricks announced on July 2. Forwards Bradley Marek, Gerry Mayhew, Nick Rhéaume, and Braidan Simmons-Fischer each received one-year, one-way contracts, while defenseman Mike Koster and forward Drew Kuzma signed one-year, two-way deals, according to iowawild.com.
Marek, 25, recorded 12 points in 59 games for Iowa last season. The 6-foot-4, 212-pound forward from Big Rapids, Michigan, has 31 points and 141 penalty minutes in 135 career AHL games across three seasons with Iowa and the San Jose Barracuda. He also posted 31 points in 37 ECHL games with Wichita in 2023-24, per oursportscentral.com.
Marek played two seasons at Ferris State University, where he totaled 36 points in 72 games and earned CCHA Rookie of the Year honors in 2021-22 after posting 19 points as a freshman.
The signings give Iowa a group of returning and new faces as the club prepares for the upcoming AHL season. Marek spent the past two seasons with the Wild after one year with San Jose, establishing himself as a physical presence with size and penalty-minute totals that reflect his style of play.
