Wild seek response in Sunday rematch with Wolves

Iowa returns to Allstate Arena at 3 p.m. CDT after Chicago earned its first win of the season in overtime.

The Iowa Wild return to Allstate Arena on Sunday, Oct. 18, looking to respond to a 2-1 overtime loss to the Chicago Wolves the night before. The rematch begins at 3 p.m. CDT.

Chicago earned its first win of the season Saturday, ending Iowa’s two-game winning streak. The Wolves enter Sunday at 1-4-0-0, while the Wild are 3-1-1-1.

Josiah Slavin supplied Saturday’s overtime winner with 42 seconds left. Aleksi Heimosalmi had put Chicago ahead on the power play before Mason Shaw tied the game late in the third period.

Cayden Primeau made 20 saves for Chicago in the win, while Iowa’s Riley Mercer stopped 22 shots. The quick turnaround gives the Wild an immediate chance to answer and the Wolves an opportunity to build on their breakthrough.
