Hurricanes activate Seth Jarvis ahead of possible season debut

Jarvis could return Thursday in Edmonton after recovering from June shoulder surgery.

The Carolina Hurricanes activated Seth Jarvis from the injured non-roster list on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The forward has yet to appear this season after undergoing shoulder surgery in June.

Jarvis took part fully in Wednesday’s practice and could play Thursday against the Edmonton Oilers, according to NHL.com. He practised alongside Jordan Martinook and Jesperi Kotkaniemi.

Coach Rod Brind’Amour said the Hurricanes were giving Jarvis practice repetitions, including power-play work, while waiting for clearance for him to play. The June procedure repaired a torn labrum and rotator cuff in his right shoulder.

Carolina also recalled Skyler Brind’Amour from the Chicago Wolves and assigned Bradly Nadeau to the AHL club. The Hurricanes announced those moves alongside Jarvis’s activation.
