Goldeneyes Re Sign Madison Samoskevich for 2026-27

The Vancouver Goldeneyes re-signed Madison Samoskevich to a one-year PWHL Standard Player Agreement on September 8, keeping the versatile 23-year-old in the fold through the 2026-27 season.

Vancouver had already protected her rights, extending a qualifying offer during Phase 5 of the league's Expansion Player Distribution Process.

Samoskevich was a fifth-round pick (39th overall) at the 2025 PWHL Draft and spent her rookie year moving around the lineup. The Sandy Hook, Connecticut native played 23 games on Vancouver's blue line before shifting to centre for the club's final four games. She scored her first PWHL goal on April 14, in her first game of the season as a forward, becoming the third Vancouver rookie to reach that milestone in 2025-26.

She arrived in the PWHL from Quinnipiac, where she put up 84 points (19 goals, 65 assists) in 168 NCAA games. Her 65 assists rank sixth in Bobcats program history. Like she did in Vancouver, Samoskevich made the switch from defence to forward as a graduate student in 2024-25, leading Quinnipiac in power play goals (5) and faceoff wins (353). She won silver with the United States at the 2019 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship.

The signing brings Vancouver to 18 players under contract. The Goldeneyes had reached 17 a week earlier by signing fourth-round draft pick Katie DeSa, a goaltender out of Penn State, to a one-year deal on September 1.

Other newcomers to the roster include forward Laura Fuoco and defender Dominika Lasková. Vancouver, one of the league's first two expansion clubs when it was announced in April 2025, plays its home games at Pacific Coliseum.
