Goldeneyes Name Alison Izzi General Manager
The attorney and former AHL hockey operations executive succeeds Cara Gardner Morey, who moved to head coach in July.
The Vancouver Goldeneyes named Alison Izzi general manager Tuesday, adding an attorney and hockey executive with experience in the NHL and AHL.
Izzi succeeds Cara Gardner Morey, who was named head coach in July after serving as Vancouver's general manager during its inaugural season.
Izzi, a Rhode Island native, has more than eight years of professional hockey experience. She most recently clerked for the NHL Legal Department, focusing on hockey operations and player safety. She previously served as the AHL's vice president of hockey operations and governance and sat on the league's Legal Committee and Collective Bargaining Committee. She began her career with the Providence Bruins in ticketing and events.
“She has spent her career working across so many areas that are central to running a professional hockey team, from player contracts to hockey operations, governance, and player safety,” said PWHL executive vice president of hockey operations Jayna Hefford.
Izzi graduated from Springfield College and the Western New England University School of Law.
“Cara has built a great culture in Vancouver that I'm honoured to be entrusted with,” Izzi said.
