Connor McDavid and Cutter Gauthier enter Thursday’s meeting at Rogers Place on productive runs as the Edmonton Oilers open a four-game homestand against the Anaheim Ducks. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT, with television coverage on Sportsnet, the Oilers announced in their preview.

McDavid has an assist in each of Edmonton’s first 16 games and 40 points this season. His latest assist came on Leon Draisaitl’s tying power-play goal in Tuesday’s 4-3 shootout loss to New Jersey. Edmonton finished its three-game trip with five of six available points and returns home with an 11-2-3 record.

Gauthier arrives with hat tricks in consecutive games, including Tuesday’s 5-4 win over Vancouver. He has scored eight times over his past three games, with six of those goals on the power play, according to the Oilers’ preview. Anaheim is 7-7-1 after two straight victories, and its power play is converting at 38.0 per cent.

Edmonton will also wear its Midnight Oil Hometown Remix uniforms for the first time Thursday. The club has scheduled seven home appearances in the new sweaters this season.
