Flyers to induct Bob Kelly and Simon Gagne into Hall of Fame

Philadelphia will honour the two former forwards before its Feb. 27 game against San Jose.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Wednesday, Oct. 14, that Bob Kelly and Simon Gagne will join the club’s Hall of Fame. Their induction ceremony is scheduled before Philadelphia hosts the San Jose Sharks at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2027.

Kelly and Gagne will be the Hall’s 29th and 30th members. Philadelphia last inducted Mark Recchi in January 2024.

Kelly played for the Flyers from 1970 to 1980 and later worked as the club’s Ambassador of Hockey. Gagne spent parts of 11 seasons with Philadelphia, first from 1999 to 2010 and again in 2012-13.

Both former forwards said the recognition meant a great deal to them and thanked the club and its supporters. The Flyers select inductees through nomination and voting committees that include alumni, club staff, broadcasters and members of the Philadelphia chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
