Flyers announce winter clothing drive starting Oct. 24
The club and Independence Blue Cross will collect coats, hats and gloves for Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia through Nov. 17.
The Philadelphia Flyers and Independence Blue Cross announced Thursday that they will collect winter clothing for children in Greater Philadelphia, beginning Saturday, Oct. 24.
Fans can bring new or gently used coats, hats and gloves to Flyers home games at Xfinity Mobile Arena through Nov. 17. Collection points will be available at all fan entrances. Donations can also be dropped off at Independence Live, 1919 Market Street in Philadelphia, and the Flyers Training Center in Voorhees, New Jersey.
The opening collection coincides with Saturday's 1 p.m. game against Anaheim. Gritty is scheduled to make a ceremonial donation at 11:30 a.m. in the arena's 11th Street Atrium.
Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia will receive the donated clothing. The collection is part of the Flyers and IBX Give Back partnership.
