Flyers place Garrett Wilson on waivers

Philadelphia announced the move Thursday; Wilson has captained its AHL affiliate in Lehigh Valley.

Garrett Wilson was placed on waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, Oct. 22, the club announced.

Pro Hockey Rumors reported that the move is expected to allow Philadelphia to send Wilson to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms if he goes unclaimed. Daily Faceoff also reported that an assignment would be possible if Wilson clears waivers Friday.

Wilson has served as the Phantoms’ captain for the past three seasons, according to Pro Hockey Rumors.
