Elias Pettersson is back at a point per game for the Vancouver Canucks. The centre has four goals and 14 assists through 18 games, with all four goals coming on the power play.

In an interview with Sportsnet after Friday's practice in Edmonton, Pettersson said he began working with a mental coach at the end of last season and continued over the summer. He said the work helped him decide where to put his focus. “Honestly, that's been game-changing for me,” he told Sportsnet.

Pettersson had 45 points in 64 games in 2024–25 and 51 in 74 games last season. He opened this season with eight points in five straight games, according to the Canucks.

Vancouver fell to 3–14–1 with Thursday's 6–2 loss to Winnipeg. Pettersson also told Sportsnet he has noticed a better atmosphere around the team under general manager Ryan Johnson and head coach Manny Malhotra.
