Brady Tkachuk supplied every Florida goal in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Vancouver Canucks at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday, Oct. 15, recording a natural hat trick for the second consecutive game.

According to NHL.com, Tkachuk is the third player in NHL history to score natural hat tricks in back-to-back games, after Petri Skriko in 1986 and Cy Denneny in 1923.

The Panthers entered the third period down 2-0. Tkachuk began the comeback at 11:11, then struck again at 19:47 with Akira Schmid on the bench for an extra attacker. His overtime goal at 2:23 completed Florida’s rally.

Seth Jones assisted on the tying and winning goals. Schmid made 15 saves for Florida, which improved to 4-2-2.

Liam Ohgren and defenceman Elias Pettersson had given Vancouver its two-goal lead in the opening period. Leevi Merilainen finished with 36 saves, but the Canucks fell to 2-6-1 through 9 games with their sixth consecutive defeat.

Tkachuk also scored three consecutive goals in Tuesday’s 7-3 win over Columbus. He had no goals through his first six games with Florida and now has six goals and an assist across the last two.

NHL EDGE tracking data shows four of those six goals came from the middle of the ice, two from the low slot and two from the high slot. Eleven of his 25 shots on goal this season have come from high-danger areas, in the 97th percentile among forwards. Matthew Tkachuk assisted on four of his brother’s goals over the two games.
