Bears and Thunderbirds meet again on AHL’s 90th anniversary
Hershey returns to MassMutual Center on Saturday after Springfield won the first game of the back-to-back.

The Hershey Bears and Springfield Thunderbirds wrap up a two-game set Saturday at MassMutual Center. The game starts at 6:05 p.m. ET and streams on AHLTV on FloHockey.
All 32 clubs play Saturday, 90 years after the league’s first games on Nov. 7, 1936. The Springfield Indians were one of the original clubs. Hershey joined in 1938 and has won 13 Calder Cups.
Springfield won 4–2 on Friday for its first home victory of the season. Oskar Sundqvist tied the game while killing a penalty. All three of his goals this season have come shorthanded, the most in the AHL.
Hershey has lost its last two visits to Springfield. The Bears need a win Saturday to avoid matching their longest winless run at the Thunderbirds’ arena, a three-game stretch from 2018 to 2019.
