AHL Announces Passing of Former Hershey Bears Star Jeannot Gilbert
Gilbert, who won the 1968-69 AHL scoring title and a Calder Cup with Hershey, has died at 85.

The American Hockey League is remembering Jeannot Gilbert, who died earlier this week at the age of 85.
A native and lifelong resident of La Baie, Que., Gilbert put up 650 points in 616 AHL games over nine seasons, one with the Providence Reds (1964-65) and eight with the Hershey Bears (1965-73).
His best year came in 1968-69. Gilbert won the league scoring title with 100 points in 71 games and led the Bears to a Calder Cup championship. He scored 20 or more goals in eight of his nine AHL seasons, and his 595 points in a Hershey uniform rank fourth in franchise history.
Gilbert also appeared in nine NHL games with the Boston Bruins. He finished his playing career with two seasons in the WHA with the Quebec Nordiques.
