TRUE and OMHA Name 75 Goalie Equipment Recipients
Association-owned sets will serve U9 and younger players under a five-year equipment donation partnership.
TRUE Hockey and the Ontario Minor Hockey Association have identified 75 associations that will receive goaltender equipment through Goalie Assist. The recipient announcement moves the equipment access program into its next stage after the partners announced a five-year agreement in July.
OMHA published its recipient notice on October 19. A follow-up on W. Graeme Roustan's website appeared on October 21. The notices describe equipment that associations will receive; they do not establish that every set has already been delivered.
Each set includes a chest protector, blocker, catcher, leg pads and stick. The equipment is intended for players in U9 and younger age groups who want to try goaltending. Ownership stays with the association, with the gear intended to serve entry-level goalies over multiple years.
The announced commitment is 75 sets donated each year. The July partnership announcement puts the total at 375 sets over five years. That is a planned supply of shared equipment, with the partners aiming to reduce the upfront cost of trying the position.
The published recipient list includes associations such as South Bruce, St. Marys, Whitby and Woolwich. It gives local clubs and families a way to check which associations were selected, rather than relying on a general sponsorship announcement.
For families exploring the position, the association is the point of access to these shared sets. The notices identify the five supplied components, but do not specify their model names, pad sizes or retail value. They also do not provide a delivery timetable for individual associations. A place on the recipient list therefore confirms selection, without establishing when a particular set will be available locally.
