CCM Skips Trigger 11 and Ships the Ribcor Trigger Unleashed Pro
CCM's top priced Ribcor is on pre-order now and lists an August 14 launch.
The Ribcor Trigger Unleashed Pro sits at the top of a four step Ribcor ladder on CCM's US site, above the Ribcor Trigger Unleashed at $199.99, the Trigger 80 at $169.99 and the Trigger 60 at $109.99 in senior. The name is half the story. There is no Trigger 11. CCM is still listing numbered Ribcors on the same page, and the company has published no explanation for the break.
The pitch is a redesigned kick point. European retailer Hockeystore says the "redesigned ultra-low kick point features a sharper, lower rib profile, allowing the shaft to load energy with minimal effort," and promises a quicker release and explosive shot speed. That is a brand claim, not a measurement, and CCM's own Ribcor page never says "ultra." It describes the line only as a low kickpoint achieved by a gradual decrease in stiffness from the top of the shaft to the bottom. Ice Warehouse's product page does not state a kick point at all.
Inline Warehouse goes further on construction. It lists the flex profile as "Ultralow Kick Point (Low Kick)" with an "upper handle, softer middle and new aggressive taper," credits NanoLite Shield Technology for the carbon layering, and describes a MicroFeel grip with raised texture on the bottom and backhand of the shaft's midsection plus a redesigned blade to shaft connection point. Retailers disagree on what CCM calls that junction and CCM's site does not name it, so we are leaving the name out. Inline Warehouse is also the only source we loaded that lists a weight, 360 grams at 85 flex. Treat that as one retailer's number until CCM posts a spec. Ice Warehouse shows senior flexes from 65 to 95, in P28, P29, P88 and P90TM.
Who is it for? Hockeystore's copy aims it at offensive players who thrive on turning small scoring chances into goals, the wrist shot and snapshot crowd working in tight spaces.
Pricing is $389.99 senior, $359.99 intermediate, $289.99 junior and $219.99 youth on CCM's US site, all four marked pre-order. Inline Warehouse matches the senior, intermediate and junior numbers and Ice Warehouse's $289.99 to $389.99 range fits, so there is no discount to hunt for yet. Ice Warehouse states "Pre-Order: Launching August 14th" and already shows a 09/14 ship date on two configurations. Hockeystore opened pre-orders August 7 for an August 14 release at 309.90 euros senior, 269.90 euros intermediate, 219.90 euros junior and 189.90 euros youth. Pre-order now, ships Friday.
