CCM Jetspeed FT8 Pro: A Faster Loading Flagship

The Jetspeed FT8 Pro is CCM's top-tier 2025 stick, built for the player who wants a fast release without giving up puck feel. It keeps the Jetspeed line's Hybrid Kick point, so the stick loads with a hinge-like effect that shifts with your hand position and shooting style rather than forcing one fixed sweet spot. At 368 grams in an 85 flex, it is light enough to whip through quick shots off the rush or in a scramble, and it comes in about 5 grams under the FT7 Pro it replaces.

What actually changed from the FT7 Pro is worth knowing before you upgrade. The headline is the Evo blade. Where the FT7 Pro used a blade tuned for consistency across its length, the FT8 Pro pairs a soft heel for puck feel and control with a stiffer toe for snap and accuracy on release. CCM also moved to an AluPli composite shaft, which layers ultra-thin aluminum into the carbon shell. The company claims that construction improves slash protection by 8 percent and slows crack growth by roughly 20 percent, so the pitch is more durability without adding weight.

Two other real changes round it out. The blade uses CCM's newer Sigma ST2X (Sigmatex) carbon weave, and it now comes in a taller 1/4 inch Max blade height option. CCM says it only built up the heel and mid-section of the blade, not the toe, to add reach for faceoffs, tips, and corner battles without piling on grams.

Who is it for? Snipers and playmakers who take a lot of shots in traffic and want quick, effortless loading over a pure low-kick launcher.

On availability and price: the FT8 Pro launched online in May 2025. Senior sticks carried a list price of about 390 dollars, with junior and intermediate versions lower. As of this writing it is widely discounted at major retailers, with Ice Warehouse showing clearance pricing roughly in the low 200s to low 300s depending on flex and curve.
