The Jetspeed FT8 Pro is CCM's top-tier 2025 stick, built for the player who wants a fast release without giving up puck feel. It keeps the Jetspeed line's Hybrid Kick point, which Hockeystore says creates a hinge effect for loading the stick and Ice Warehouse's comparison says adapts to your hand position and shooting style. Ice Warehouse weighs it at 368 grams in an 85 flex, light enough to whip through quick shots off the rush or in a scramble, and its comparison puts it about 5 grams under the FT7 Pro it replaces.
What actually changed from the FT7 Pro is worth knowing before you upgrade. The headline is the Evo blade. Where the FT7 Pro used a soft blade from heel to toe, the FT8 Pro pairs a soft heel for puck feel and control with a stiffer toe for shot accuracy and release speed, according to Ice Warehouse's comparison. CCM also moved to an AluPli composite shaft, which Ice Warehouse says sandwiches ultra-thin aluminum into the carbon shell. Ice Warehouse credits that construction with 8 percent better slash protection and 20 percent less crack growth, so the pitch is more durability without adding weight.
Two other real changes round it out. CCM's product page lists its newer Sigma ST2X (Sigmatex) weave in the shaft and blade, and Ice Warehouse lists a taller 1/4 inch Max blade height option. Ice Warehouse's comparison says CCM only built up the heel and mid-section of the blade, not the toe, to add height for faceoffs, tips, and corner battles without piling on grams.
Who is it for? Snipers and playmakers who take a lot of shots in traffic and want quick, effortless loading over a pure low-kick launcher.
