Bauer VAPOR FLY W Adapts Composite Arms to a Women's Fit

Bauer's VAPOR FLY-W chest protector adapts the company's elite VAPOR design around a women's fit. The manufacturer describes a shape intended to match the wearer's silhouette, while retaining composite arm components and separate foam systems across the torso.

The arm assembly combines CURV composite with SHOCKLITE foam. Bauer specifies dynamic arm floaters with three flex points, also reinforced with CURV composite, and describes that layout as supporting a natural range of motion. FlexWrist wraps around the wrist; Bauer presents it as coverage that allows movement. These are the manufacturer's design intentions, rather than results from The Lab's own movement or impact testing.

The torso uses SHOCKLITE belly blocks, SHOCKLITE PRO shoulder foam and an AEROLITE Shield sternum section. An AIRFLOW spine provides the ventilation component. Those named materials identify where the construction differs across the protector; they do not establish a measured reduction in injury risk or a weight for a particular size.

SportsZone Canada identifies the same model as a women's senior chest and arm protector for 2026, listing small, medium and large. Its product description corroborates the arm, wrist and torso components. That model-year label is separate from a verified retail release date.

On October 1, 2026, Bauer's US store listed US$619.99, with small, medium and large unavailable in its product data. SportsZone Canada listed CA$719.99; its data showed large available and medium and small unavailable. Those are seller-specific snapshots, rather than a statement about stock across the market. The two prices also use different currencies and should not be compared as a direct discount.
