Joseph Woll is expected to make his first regular-season start for the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, Oct. 1, against the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center, according to Philadelphia’s official game preview.

The Flyers are playing on consecutive nights after losing 7-0 at home to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. Dan Vladar made 31 saves, while Woll served as the backup. Pittsburgh outshot Philadelphia 38-19, and the Flyers failed to score on three power-play opportunities.

Woll completed a full training camp with his new club. In Philadelphia’s only preseason victory, he stopped all 28 Boston shots in a 2-0 shutout. New Jersey’s preview credits him with 44 saves on 47 shots across his two exhibition appearances, a .936 save percentage.

Thursday is New Jersey’s season opener. The Devils finished the preseason 3-0-1, winning their final three games.

The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will stream on ESPN+, Hulu and Disney+.
