Thunderbirds sign Matt DeMelis to one-year AHL contract

Springfield announced a two-way deal for the forward, who will remain with the Worcester Railers.

Matt DeMelis has signed a one-year AHL contract with the Springfield Thunderbirds. The club announced the two-way agreement on Friday and said the forward would stay with its ECHL affiliate, the Worcester Railers.

DeMelis played all 72 games for Worcester in 2025-26, recording 19 goals and 23 assists for 42 points. He set career highs in each of those scoring categories, according to Springfield.

Worcester has been his only club through his first three professional seasons.
