Thunderbirds seek first home win in Phantoms rematch
Springfield gets another chance against Lehigh Valley on Saturday after losing the opener of their weekend set 6-3.
The Springfield Thunderbirds host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms again at MassMutual Center on Saturday, Oct. 17, seeking their first home victory of the season. The rematch begins at 6:05 p.m. ET, according to both clubs.
Springfield enters at 2-2-0-1, while Lehigh Valley is 2-2-1-0. Both have five points following the Phantoms’ 6-3 victory on Friday.
Inside The Rink projects Alex Bump alongside Jacob Gaucher and Pautov for Lehigh Valley. Bump leads the Phantoms with five goals and seven points, the outlet reports. Those lines are projections ahead of Saturday’s game.
Springfield will try to avoid the early deficit that hurt it Friday, when Lehigh Valley scored the first four goals. The Thunderbirds closed within 4-2 in the third period before the Phantoms pulled away.
