Phantoms take first win into two-game visit to Springfield

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms head to Springfield for two games against the Thunderbirds after earning their first win of the season Wednesday in Hartford. Friday’s game at the MassMutual Center starts at 7:05 p.m. ET, followed by a Saturday rematch at 6:05 p.m. ET.
Lehigh Valley enters at 1-2-1-0 with three points after beating the Wolf Pack 4-1 on Oct. 14. Springfield is 2-1-0-1 with five points.
The Phantoms scored three times in the third period in Hartford, breaking a 1-1 tie before adding two empty-net goals. The victory began a three-game road trip that continues with the weekend set in Springfield.
The Thunderbirds are looking to recover from a 5-2 loss to Laval and a 2-1 shootout defeat against Charlotte last weekend.
