Thunderbirds seek end to five-game skid in Charlotte rematch

Springfield and Charlotte meet again Saturday at 6 p.m. ET after the Checkers won the opening game of the weekend.

The Springfield Thunderbirds will try to stop a five-game losing streak when they face the Charlotte Checkers again Saturday, Oct. 24, at Bojangles Coliseum. The game begins at 6 p.m. ET.

Charlotte won Friday's meeting 3-2, leaving the Checkers at 5-2-0-0 and Springfield at 2-3-1-1. The Thunderbirds managed only 19 shots in that game and will be seeking a split of the weekend series.

T.J. Tynan leads Springfield's active players with six points, including four assists, Inside The Rink reported in its preview. Justin Carbonneau has a team-high three goals. The outlet projects Tynan and Carbonneau together on a line; the lineup has not been confirmed.

Charlotte enters with four consecutive wins. Nathan Bastian and Jack Devine share the team scoring lead with five points apiece, while Nate Smith has four goals, according to Inside The Rink.
