Miner makes 27 saves as Eagles shut out Checkers 3-0

Colorado scored three unanswered goals on Wednesday as Trent Miner recorded his first shutout of the season.

Trent Miner turned away 27 Charlotte shots on Wednesday as the Colorado Eagles beat the Checkers 3-0 in the AHL. It was his first shutout of the season.

Neither team scored in the opening period. Jayson Megna broke the tie late in the second, scoring on a rebound from near the crease.

Adam Beckman extended Colorado’s lead early in the third period, and Matt DiMarsico added the final goal. Charlotte goaltender Kirill Gerasimyuk finished with 26 saves on 29 shots.
