Senators move Halliday alongside Stützle and Batherson
Ottawa changes its forward lines for Thursday’s home game against the Islanders.
Stephen Halliday is moving from the fourth line to a spot alongside Tim Stützle and Drake Batherson when the Ottawa Senators host the New York Islanders on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Coach Travis Green said he wanted to find a different role for Halliday after the fourth line struggled at five-on-five. Green had already tried him on the left wing and said the Islanders’ depth influenced Thursday’s combinations.
Halliday has two goals and an assist in seven games, according to the Senators. Stützle said Halliday brings skill, size and an ability to work in front of the net.
Ottawa is playing for the third time in four nights after Tuesday’s 7-2 home loss to St. Louis. Batherson said the team needs to move past that result and recover its earlier form.
