Utah’s power play supplied the difference in a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday at Scotiabank Arena. Nick Schmaltz scored with 6:48 remaining in the third period, giving the Mammoth their second man-advantage goal of the night.

Schmaltz finished a rebound after Sergei Bobrovsky denied Clayton Keller. Keller assisted on each Utah goal, and Mikhail Sergachev collected two assists. Sebastian Cossa made 27 saves as the Mammoth improved to 10-6-0.

Dylan Guenther gave Utah the lead on a first-period power play. Jack Roslovic answered in the second before Andrew Peeke restored the visitors’ advantage.

Roslovic brought Toronto level again at 9:05 of the third, but Schmaltz’s goal settled the game. Auston Matthews assisted on both Roslovic goals. Bobrovsky stopped 33 shots for the Maple Leafs, who fell to 8-7-2.
