Panthers rule out Markstrom and Gudas against Blue Jackets
Both players are day to day, with Akira Schmid starting in goal and Uvis Balinskis entering Florida’s lineup.
Jacob Markstrom and Radko Gudas will miss the Florida Panthers’ visit to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Coach Paul Maurice said both players are day to day.
Akira Schmid will start in goal, with Cooper Black backing him up after his recall from the Charlotte Checkers. Markstrom left after the first period of Monday’s 5-3 loss in Buffalo, having allowed two goals on 11 shots. Maurice said afterward that the goaltender had experienced tightness.
Uvis Balinskis will take Gudas’ place on defence. NHL.com lists the nature of both Markstrom’s and Gudas’ injuries as undisclosed.
Florida enters the second game of its road back-to-back at 2-2-2. The game at Nationwide Arena is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. ET.
