Panthers’ Jacob Markstrom returns to start against Kraken
Florida’s No. 1 goaltender is back Saturday after missing two games with an undisclosed injury.
Jacob Markstrom will return to Florida’s net against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday, Oct. 17, after sitting out two games with an undisclosed injury, NHL.com reported. The Panthers host Seattle at 6 p.m. ET.
Markstrom’s previous appearance ended after the first period of Monday’s 5-3 loss at Buffalo. He allowed two goals on 11 shots before leaving and was subsequently considered day to day.
His return gives the Panthers their No. 1 goaltender back, though defenceman Radko Gudas remains unavailable. Gudas took a hit off his knee in the Buffalo game and will miss a third consecutive game.
Panthers coach Paul Maurice said Gudas could return Wednesday against the Ottawa Senators, according to NHL.com’s Saturday status report. Gudas skated Saturday, but that possible return date remains a projection.
