Ryan O'Reilly scored on the power play with 3:16 remaining in the third period, and the Nashville Predators rallied for a 5-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Thursday.

Adam Edstrom added two empty-net goals, at 17:23 and 18:34, to seal it. Alexander Kerfoot had a goal and an assist for the Predators (2-1-1), his first goal with the club. Roman Josi and Steven Stamkos each had two assists, and Juuse Saros made 32 saves.

Montreal (1-2-1) has lost three straight (0-2-1). Nick Suzuki and Alex Newhook scored for the Canadiens.

Suzuki opened the scoring at 3:12 of the second period during 4-on-4 play, banking a backhander through Saros' five-hole for his third goal in four games. Newhook made it 2-0 at 8:50, flipping a shot over Saros' glove off a centring pass from Josh Anderson. Kerfoot cut it to 2-1 at 15:06 by tipping an Adam Wilsby point shot from in front. Matthew Wood tied it at 19:28 with a power-play goal off a pileup in the crease. The net had come off its moorings after Anderson hit Stamkos into the left post, but the goal stood after a video review.

Montreal thought it had a 1-0 lead early in the first when Chris Kreider lifted a rebound past Saros at 1:36. Nashville challenged for offside, and the goal was overturned.

Saros kept it close in the third, denying Anderson on a breakaway with a left-pad save at 11:13.

Jacob Fowler made 15 saves in his season debut for the Canadiens.
