Marchenko marks 300th NHL game with hat trick against Buffalo
Toronto’s winger began his three-goal night with a between-the-legs power-play finish on Thursday.
Kirill Marchenko celebrated his 300th regular-season NHL appearance with a hat trick for the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, Oct. 15.
A power-play chance in the first period produced the highlight of his night. John Tavares found Marchenko near the net, where the winger turned and sent the puck through his legs to beat Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.
He followed that with a shot from the left circle and a finish off Colton Sissons’ pass from behind the net to complete his three-goal performance.
The outburst came after a quieter start with Toronto. TSN reported before the game that Marchenko had one goal and six points through his first seven appearances with the club.
