Maple Leafs acquire Räty from Canucks for Quillan and Buhr

The NHL clubs announced the three-forward trade on Oct. 15.

The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired Aatu Räty from the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday, Oct. 15, in exchange for Jacob Quillan and Brandon Buhr. Both teams announced the trade.

Räty, 23, had a goal in four games with Vancouver this season. Toronto said he has 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 118 career NHL games with the Canucks and the New York Islanders.

Quillan, 24, has three points in 24 NHL games, all with Toronto. Buhr, 24, signed his entry-level contract with the Maple Leafs in March after four NCAA seasons.

Vancouver general manager Ryan Johnson said the two incoming forwards would help strengthen the organization’s depth.
