Malkin ruled out against Golden Knights with lower-body injury
The Penguins centre remains day-to-day despite taking part in Tuesday’s optional morning skate.
Evgeni Malkin will miss Pittsburgh’s home game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday because of a lower-body injury, NHL.com reported. He remains day-to-day.
Malkin took part in the optional morning skate after missing practice Monday. The Penguins had announced his day-to-day status Monday.
He has six goals and five assists in 13 games this season, according to Pittsburgh’s official game preview.
Coach Dan Muse said the Penguins would look to other players to take on additional responsibility when injuries keep teammates out of the lineup.
