Golden Knights’ Bowman ejected for elbowing Bruins’ Poitras

Vegas forward received a major penalty and a game misconduct during Monday’s game in Boston.

Vegas Golden Knights forward Braeden Bowman was ejected for elbowing Boston Bruins forward Matthew Poitras on Monday at TD Garden.

Officials assessed Bowman a five-minute major and a game misconduct at 2:49 of the second period. The major was confirmed after a review.

Poitras went to the dressing room bleeding from the face, according to Sportsnet. He later returned to the bench with a protective bubble attached to his helmet.

Morgan Geekie scored during the ensuing power play, giving Boston a 2-0 lead.
